CAMERON McGEEHAN believes that the departure of key forward Tom Bradshaw will not dent Barnsley’s promotion push.
The former Walsall striker has joined Millwall for a seven-figure fee, with the news representing the main downside to a memorable first month of 2018-19.
McGeehan, confident that the Reds will not be affected as long as they ‘adapt’ quickly to the development, said: “It is a loss for us, but we have done well and started well. We are a good team.
“It happens all the time, players leave and clubs get on with it. I am happy for him that he has got his move to the Championship, but it should not affect us.
“His work ethic was really good on the pitch. He worked his socks off, him and Kieffer (Moore) were beginning to build a rapport on the pitch. We have to adapt.
“We know what we are about and it will not affect us too much, we will just continue with the same path that we are on.”

Today sees McGeehan make a quick return to Glanford Park after spending the second half of last season on loan there – and he faces much-changed hosts, who yesterday sacked manager and former Rotherham player Nick Daws after four games.
The Iron have sold a number of influential players this summer and Daws has paid the price following Wednesday’s embarrassing 5-0 home loss to Fleetwood.
McGeehan added: “It is tough because they lost a lot of their better players. I think most of their starting XI has changed. But they will be right up for the game because they will want to show a reaction and give something back to the fans.
“A 5-0 loss at home is not ideal. Hopefully, we can get an early goal and apply the pressure.”
