Victor Adeboyejo hailed a ‘gamechanger’ by Barnsley FC boss Valerian Ismael
The Reds came from a goal down to defeat Preston North End 2-1 on Tuesday night, Victor Adeboyejo stepping off the bench in the 61st minute to guide home the winning goal 10 minutes from time.
Earlier, Barnsley captain Alex Mowatt had curled home a fine goal to cancel out Sean Maguire’s second-minute, close-range header for Preston.

Hide AdIsmael, who has now overseen eight wins from his 12 matches in charge since succeeding Gerhard Struber, said: “Victor and Luke Thomas played a very good game coming off the bench.
“They really contributed to the victory and it’s good to see that we can get that from all the players.
“We showed a strong mentality in the second half. Our transition game was effective and our finishing was clinical.
“I’m delighted with the guys and I’m also surprised at the energy of the team.”

Hide AdMowatt’s strike from 20 yards was his third goal of the season and proved the turning point in the game.
“This is his quality,” said Ismael.
“We try to put him in such positions either to prepare the counter-press or to score the goals.”
And on matchwinner Adeboyejo, Ismael added: “He worked hard and he stayed focused.
“It’s good to know we have a weapon like him on the bench. We know that we have a gamechanger.”
