Barnsley focus lies on run-in

BARNSLEY have put all their contract negotiations on the backburner as they focus on a successful Championship run-in.

The Tykes, who have 10 first-team squad members whose contracts expire in the summer, slipped to 13th place after last week's 6-1 defeat at Newcastle but remain only seven points adrift of the play-offs with 12 league games remaining.

Robins said: "We have put all contract discussions on hold now until the end of the season when we will know where we are and what we can do.

"We can only concentrate on the games now and focus on getting more points on the board and playing some decent football."
