Barnsley v Burton: Watkins aims to get off the mark for Reds
The summer signing from Inverness Caledonian Thistle came off the bench in the opening day defeat at Chesterfield, but impressed in a starting midfield role against Scunthorpe United in midweek.
The Reds drew 1-1 – Watkins left red-faced after missing a penalty – but triumphed on spot-kicks to claim a second-round spot in the Capital One Cup.

Hide AdAfter netting 10 times for Inverness last season – including a goal in the Scottish Cup final triumph over Falkirk – 24-year-old Watkins is keen to open his account with the Tykes.
“The gaffer has told me to relax and my first goal will come, but obviously missing the penalty the other night didn’t help,” said Watkins.
“However, that happens in football and you have to move on. We got the win, which was the main thing and that’s what you want.
“I thought the whole team did well against Scunthorpe, there were some encouraging signs and that gives us something to build on.

“I’ve got goals in me this season, but as long as I’ll play I’ll be happy.
“It’s a quick tempo in this league, but it’s been really enjoyable so far.
“It’s a big club here and it’s a perfect place for me to improve my game. Hopefully, we can take Barnsley up this season.
“I’m really excited about it (how the squad is coming together). In spells we played really well against Chesterfield.
“Burton play a good style of football, so it should be a good challenge for us.”
