BARNSLEY manager Mark Robins has stressed the importance of today's home game.

The Tykes have won only one of their last five games and sit mid-table three points off the play-off zone.

However, they are unbeaten so far at Oakwell and inflicted a 'double' on Cardiff last season.

"The league is very tight at this early stage and we don't want to lose ground with teams in the top six," said Robins.

"This is a game that everyone here is relishing."

Cardiff, who lost to Blackpool in last season's play-off final at Wembley, are second, six points behind leaders Queens Park Rangers.

Robins said: "They will be wanting to go one better this time around and they have a really experienced manager in Dave Jones, who is someone I really admire.

"It should be a great game of football to be involved in. They have a passionate set of supporters just as we do."
