Barnsley v Nottingham Forest: Robins urges Tykes to push for play-offs

BARNSLEY manager Mark Robins hopes Nottingham Forest's travel sickness continues tonight.

The Tykes entertain the promotion-chasing side knowing they have suffered badly on the road this year.

Third-placed Forest have lost their last five Championship games and have not tasted victory away from the City Ground since beating West Bromwich Albion on January 8.

Barnsley, meanwhile, recovered from their 6-1 mauling at Newcastle United with a goalless draw against Crystal Palace at the weekend and are now aiming for a surge into the play-off spots.

"We have kept three clean sheets in four matches and that game at Newcastle was a freak result," said Robins.

"Nottingham Forest are a good side, a big club and are challenging for the top two but they have had a little slip up away from home of late.

"Hopefully, that will continue on Tuesday. We're heading into the business end of the season and it's important for us to push on."

Goaleeper Luke Steele is back from a one-game suspension following his red card at Newcastle although Robins was impressed with understudy David Preece's performance at the weekend.

Barnsley are without on-loan Stoke defender Carl Dickinson who suffered knee ligament damage against Palace but Nathan Doyle – who came off with blurred vision – should be fit to resume after the problem was diagnosed as a simple migraine.

Last six games: Barnsley LLWWLD, Nottingham Forest LWWLWL.

Referee: K Friend (Leicestershire).
