Bournemouth v Huddersfield Town: Wells will go straight back in to Terriers’ line-up

MARK ROBINS is expecting a very different Bournemouth tonight than the side hammered by Huddersfield Town during the first month of the season.

The Terriers make the long trip looking to bounce back from a disappointing FA Cup fourth-round exit at home to Charlton Athletic at the weekend.

Bournemouth sit three points and three places behind Town, who romped to a 5-1 win against Eddie Howe’s men on August 24.

It represents Huddersfield’s joint highest victory of the season – Yeovil Town crashed to an identical loss at the John Smith’s Stadium in the final game of 2013 – but Robins has warned his players that tonight is unlikely to produce a repeat.

Robins said: “I saw Bournemouth play against Liverpool (in the FA Cup) on Saturday and before that against Watford. They worked their socks off in both matches.

“It will be a different proposition to the one we faced earlier in the season because they are playing a different style of football.

“There is no doubt that they will attack us and we will have to be on our toes to nullify their threat. But we also want to have a threat going the other way.”

Town will welcome both Nahki Wells and Joe Lolley back into the squad after the recent arrivals had to sit out the Cup defeat to Charlton due to having already played in the competition, for Bradford City and Kidderminster Harriers respectively.

Adam Hammill, however, will not feature after the winger was forced out of the action by a heavy tackle from Charlton’s Dale Stephens.

“We haven’t really got a like-for-like replacement for Adam,” said Robins, “but we have got people who can come in and do a job, or we could change shape. I am clear in my mind on what direction we will go.

“Joe (Lolley) is a good prospect, but will I start him? Probably not. He is still settling in with us and has only trained a couple of days, but he is very capable and will travel to Bournemouth.

“As for Nahki, you don’t pay that sort of money and not have him on the pitch.

“He is chomping at the bit and has worked hard since QPR, even training on Saturday to make sure that he is ready.

“Saturday was frustrating. I have watched the game back and we played okay. We created enough chances to win the game, but just didn’t take one. The goalkeeper has played well for them, but we were guilty of lacking composure and missing clear cut chances.

“We need to move on quickly because we need to get back to winning ways against Bournemouth.”
