Bradford City 1 Accrington Stanley 1: Price strike earns City welcome point at home

ON-LOAN striker Jason Price salvaged a point for Bradford City with his first goal for the club.

The result ended a run of three successive league and cup defeats, but it was still a disappointing outcome for Bradford who were left with only one point from two home games in four days.

Accrington were the better side in a scrappy first half and went in front after 21 minutes with a penalty from Phil Edwards after City's Tom Adeyemi had handled.

This goal instilled confidence into the visitors who frequently overran City in midfield to keep the pressure on a disappointing Bradford side who rarely threatened the Accrington goal.

Manager Peter Taylor changed formation at the interval, playing an extra man in midfield and brought on Jamaican international winger Omar Daley to add much-needed life and pace into the attack and City deservedly equalised after 56 minutes.

Left-back Luke O'Brien slung the ball to the edge of the penalty area where Price headed it into the goalmouth. Ian Dunbavin challenged fellow striker James Hanson for the ball and as it went loose Price followed up to score.

City pressed hard for the winner after drawing level but couldn't open up the Accrington defence again as the visitors' continued their remarkable run of good results at Valley Parade. They are unbeaten in four visits to Bradford since they returned to the football league in 2007.
