Bradford City 5 Oxford United 0: Daley on target for Bantams

MANAGER Peter Taylor will watch a DVD of the game before deciding whether to appeal against the sending-off of striker James Hanson.

Hanson was shown the red card in the 71st minute after clashing with former City defender Jake Wright, who also walked, following a melee after the sending-off of Oxford defender Mark Creighton for a second bookable offence.

It was alleged that Hanson elbowed Wright, who then retaliated, but Taylor said: "I had a good view and I didn't see any elbow."

Taylor, who met referee David Webb afterwards, said: "I just hope it is clear on the DVD. If it isn't we can't do anything about it, but if it is clear that James has not elbowed their player we will appeal. It isn't acceptable for someone to use their elbow, but I don't think he has."

The triple sending off spoiled City's biggest win for two seasons and their third in four matches. After a dull first half, City took charge with two goals in nine minutes from Jamaican winger Omar Daley. Hanson headed Luke O'Brien's free-kick into Daley's path and he scored from six yards before adding a second after 57 minutes, cutting in from the right before scoring with a left-foot shot.

Lee Hendrie added the third from a twice-taken penalty after Creighton had tripped Hanson, goalkeeper Ryan Clarke having moved early to keep out the first attempt.

David Syers and Louis Moult, with a 20-yard shot in stoppage time for his first goal since joining on loan from Stoke, completed the win.
