Bradford City act on Liddle replacement

BRADFORD CITY expect to sign a midfielder on loan when the emergency window opens next week after selling Gary Liddle to Chesterfield.

The 29-year-old, subject of a failed bid from Carlisle United seven days ago, has joined the Spireites amid interest from Hartlepool United.

Phil Parkinson is keen to bring in a replacement and has a player in mind who he wants to move to Valley Parade on loan.

With City already having five temporary signings on the books - the most that can be included in a matchday squad of 18 - the Yorkshire Post understands the club are attempting to push through a permanent deal for Jamie Proctor.

The Fleetwood Town striker joined the Bantams on loan last month and was due to stay for the rest of the season. That deal, however, will now be made permanent - paving the way for Parkinson to bring in his unnamed target.
