The Mariners' weekend game at Cheltenham Town was called off when midfielder Jock Curran tested positive test for coronavirus the previous day, sending the entire squad into self-isolation, and leading to the club's training ground to be shut for 14 days.

With games scheduled at home to Bradford City on Saturday, in League Two, and at Hull City in the Football League Trophy the following Tuesday in that timeframe, it was always thought they too would be called off, and on Monday afternoon the Football League announced as much.

Bradford's league game at home to Stevenage went ahead as planned on Saturday despite three visiting players testing positive for covid-19 the previous day, forcing them to change their plans and travel on the morning. The Bantams won 2-1.

Hull controversially decline West Ham United's offer to be tested at the Premier League club's expense before last week's League Cup tie, which David Moyes and two Hammers players were sent home from after being found to have the virus.

Grimsby chairman Philip Day has called for the League Two season to be suspended as a result of the ongoing problems caused by coronavirus.

No new date has been set for either game yet.
