A fraught and forgettable year for the club ends on the pitch this evening, with the work of the interim managerial duo of Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars in presiding over a unbeaten four-match spell incorporating three precious wins representing one of the positive shafts of light in a grim 2020.

The impact of the pair has been duly recognised by the club who have announced that they will continue to take interim charge ‘until further notice’ as they attempt to build on their encouraging work thus far.

It is a decision which has gone down well with the players.

Clarke said: “They have worked their socks off in terms of getting their point across to us and continuity is key.

“For new managers to come in after doing so well, it would be tough for them and us to suddenly flip ideas again and not have this in place.

“They (Trueman and Sellars) deserve it.

“They have been good for us and fair play to them.”

Meanwhile, the Bantams’ scheduled first game of 2021 at home to Morecambe on Saturday has been postponed due to an outbreak of Covid-19 at the Lancashire club.

City, meanwhile, have confirmed the appointment of Lee Turnbull as the club’s new recruitment director.

Last six games: Bradford LLDWWW; Port Vale WWDDLL.

Referee: P Wright (Merseyside).
