Accrington Stanley v Bradford City: Bantams chief setting out to prove a point

PETER JACKSON has urged his players to show Accrington Stanley the “real Bradford City” tonight and finally banish the memory of last Easter’s miserable trip across the Pennines.

The Bantams were woeful as they lost 3-0 at the Crown Ground last term to leave Jackson fearing his home-town club were doomed to relegation from the Football League.

City went on to stay up but Jackson still wants to eradicate the memory of what he admits was “one of my lowest moments as a manager”.

He said: “We were shocking that day, truly shocking. But a lot has changed in four months with me appointed permanent manager and 13 new signings having been made.

“It means we head there full of confidence this season and I want Accrington to see the real Bradford City for a change.”

Last six games: Accrington Stanley DLLDLL, Bradford City WDLLLL.

Last time: Accrington Stanley 3 Bradford City 0; April 23, 2011; League Two.

Referee: D Mohareb (Cheshire).
