Aldershot Town 0-2 Bradford City - Wells downs lowly Shots with deadly double

BERNUDIAN striker Nahki Wells netted his 11th and 12th goals of the campaign as the Bantams piled on the anguish for the home-sick Shots.

City had found goals a scarce commodity in the first half of league games away from Valley Parade this term, but they doubled their tally for the entire League Two season thus far, courtesy of that man Wells.

It was City’s first win in five attempts at the EBB Stadium, with the Shots, with the worst home record in the division and with a mere five points from their previous eight games in Hampshire, afforded no upturn.

This despite the Shots winning all four previous league encounters with the Bantams since returning to the league.

Wells fired the visitors in front on 28 minutes, cashing in on a gift from Sonny Bradley and seizing on his woefully underhit backpass before slotting home past Young.

The hosts went close to a leveller when Hylton’s volley cannoned off a visiting defender after beating Matt Duke before City added a second on minutes.

The ball found its way to an unmarked James Hanson and while Young did well to block his effort, Wells made no mistake with the follow-up to seal three away-day points for the visitors, in FA Cup first-round replay action at home to Northampton Town on Tuesday evening.
