Bantams are ordered to put on a show for cut-price entertainment

The Bantams have reduced admission prices today in a bid to boost the gate against Torquay United.

Parkinson said: “Obviously we are keen for as many fans as possible to come in and support us but, equally, the atmosphere in a ground is usually dictated by what happens on the pitch. The players can’t turn up and say ‘Oh I really hope the supporters get us going today’. It’s up to the players to show them something, show that determination and work-rate that supporters will respond to.”

The Bantams are set to be boosted by the return of striker Jamie Devitt and midfielder Richie Jones.

On-loan Devitt has missed the last two games with a hip injury and returned to parent club Hull City for treatment. Jones missed the midweek victory over Huddersfield with a hamstring problem.

Striker Ross Hannah has been ruled out with a knee injury and midfielder Adam Reed remains sidelined by a groin injury. Striker James Hanson (calf) is a doubt but Craig Fagan, who was rested against Town in midweek, comes back into contention.

Teenage defender Dean Overson will spend the next month on loan at Blue Square North side Vauxhall Motors. Team-mate Patrick Lacey recently returned from a loan spell at the same club to undergo knee surgery.

Striker Darren Stephenson is set to join Woodley Sports on a one-month loan, and striker Terry Dixon, who is on loan at Halifax, has been drafted into the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for Tuesday’s game in Liechtenstein.
