Barnet are uppermost in Parkinson’s mind

The Bantams have two semi-final legs against Aston Villa this month, the first of which is due to take place on Tuesday night at Valley Parade.

With their ground possibly set to host its second full house inside a month with the remaining 4,000 or so tickets today put on general sale, the club are enjoying a long overdue spell in the spotlight.

For manager Parkinson, however, today’s trip to Underhill is the only thing occupying his mind.

He said: “It is a great month for the club and something we are looking forward to, but all I am looking at is Barnet, which is a huge game.

“Barnet have shown many times this season what they are capable of. Winning away at Gillingham is one that stands out but, in truth, there have been a few.

“We know Barnet will be well organised and we have to respect them.”

City have been linked with a move for Peterborough United midfielder Daniel Kearns, who impressed during a spell on loan at York City earlier this season.

Parkinson also wants to extend the loan deal of Newcastle United’s Curtis Good, who joined in November and was, through no fault of his own, then caught up in the eligibility row that saw the club first expelled and then reinstated in the FA Cup late last year.
