BRADFORD CITY closed in on the League One top six as Kyel Reid proved the hero in a 1-0 victory at Blackpool.

Roared on by 3,000 away fans at Bloomfield Road, Reid drilled home a 54th-minute winner after being set up by Stephen Darby.

Former Bradford player Mark Yeates had earlier gone close for Blackpool when seeing his effort tipped on to the crossbar by Ben Williams.

The victory puts Bradford up to seventh and just one point behind sixth-placed Coventry City.

Bantams boss Phil Parkinson said: “It was a strong, professional performance from us and we got better and better as the game wore on.”
