Bradford City 1 Wycombe Wanderers 0: Ellison grabs debut winner

PETER Taylor rang the changes against promotion-chasing Wycombe as he attempted to steer Bradford City clear of the relegation places, writes Robert Gledhill.

Loan signings Scott Dobie and Kevin Ellison were handed their debuts and there was a welcome return for defender Simon Ramsden, who has been dogged by hip and calf problems since the start of the season.

City lost striker James Hanson due to a leg injury in the 18th minute, Gareth Evans coming on to take a central striking role flanked by Ellison and Dobie.

The closest either side came in the first half was when Luke O’Brien cleared off the line from Chris Westwood following a corner from Wycombe’s Matt Bloomfield.

Tom Adeyemi replaced Jon Worthington at the break and City also lost David Syers through injury before taking a 70th-minute lead, Ellison sliding in at the far post to convert Luke O’Brien’s cross and celebrate his debut in style.
