John O’Sullivan handed the visitors an early lead before O’Connor duly levelled.

And Charles Vernam bagged his second goal in as many games as the Bantams got back to winning ways.

The Bantams started brightly and should have been ahead when Vernam poked wide at the near post in the fourth minute, before O’Sullivan’s cross-cum-shot lobbed Sam Hornby.

But Bradford started to control the game and O’Connor’s deflected effort found the back of the net in the 27th minute.

Visiting midfield Aaron Wildig fired over just before the break as the first half ended all square. The Bantams had the first chance of the second period as Callum Cooke fired wide.

Vernam put the hosts ahead in the 63rd minute as he fired in off the post after linking up with substitute Danny Rowe.

And the striker squandered a great chance to put the game to bed when he headed Rowe’s inviting cross over.

Niall Canavan couldn’t quite get on the end of O’Connor’s flick-on before substitute Ollie Crankshaw suffered the same fate from Rowe’s dangerous cross.
