Bradford City v Accrington Stanley: Rhodes aims to tap in to huge potential market

The Bantams lost 1-0 at Dagenham & Redbridge but it was only their third reverse in 13 games, a run that has helped the club move away from danger.

Now, Rhodes hopes that progress will be enough to persuade fans to stick with Bradford next term.

He said: “I would like to think the fans can see the progress we have been making under Phil, particularly since the start of the season, and respond accordingly.

“We have had 22,000 different season-ticket holders since falling into League Two (in 2007) and that is a huge potential market.”

City’s new scheme means adults will pay £199 – or £8.65 a game – with further concessions available for over-60s, students and juniors. In a new twist, however, a 50-50 flexi-card is also available which offers reductions for fans who watch only half of Bradford’s home games.

Rhodes added: “If we can get 10,000 to sign up either as full season-ticket holders or as members with the flexi-card then we will be happy with that.

“A few wins at home would certainly help, not only in terms of selling season tickets but, much more importantly, making sure we stay in the League.”

Parkinson is up against Aldershot’s Dean Holdsworth and Paolo Di Canio of Swindon to be named League Two Manager of Month for February.
