Bradford City v Bristol Rovers: Parkinson to bide time over City transfers

NEW Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson is willing to be patient in the transfer market.

The former Hull City chief was quick to enter the transfer market after taking over late last month and has already added Jamie Devitt, Matt Duke and Kyel Reid to his squad.

With the loan window having re-opened last Thursday, Parkinson is keen to further strengthen but insists he will not be rushed.

City’s new manager, who will make his Valley Parade bow today at home to Bristol Rovers, said: “We have got money to spend in the budget and it is important we get the right players in. You always want that player straight away but if we have to wait we will wait.

“Things are tight financially but the chairmen have done the best they can to allow me to bring in Devitt, Duke and Reid.

“There is that little bit extra to bring in one or two more but once that is spent, it is spent.”

Ross Hannah is pushing for a start after following his dramatic late equaliser at Morecambe last weekend with a midweek hat-trick for the reserves.
