Bradford City v Chesterfield: Taylor in challenge to repeat Spireites show

AHEAD of tonight’s visit from Chesterfield, Peter Taylor has told his Bradford City side to take heart from having come so close to beating the leaders a little over three weeks ago.

The Bantams led 2-1 going into stoppage time at the b2net Stadium only for the Spireites’ Jordan Bowery to net a dramatic equaliser.

Taylor said: “What we can do is take heart from our performance as it showed what we are capable of doing against a team having a very good season.”

City remain in trouble following last Friday’s defeat to Port Vale and Taylor added: “We only started playing when 2-0 down and that is not good enough.

“We could have claimed a point right at the end when Lewis Hunt should have scored.

“But we must start quicker in what is likely to be a big game against Chesterfield.”

Simon Ramsden has been sent for a scan on the thigh injury that prevented the full-back facing Vale amid fears he could be out for two to three weeks.

Last six games: Bradford City LLDLWL, Chesterfield DDDLDW.

Referee: K Evans (Lancashire).
