PHIL PARKINSON will give a trio of players that includes top scorer Nahki Wells as long as possible to get over a sickness bug before naming his Bradford City team tonight.

The Bantams’ camp has been hit by a virus that has left Wells, Kyel Reid and Alan Connell suffering sickness and diarrhoea.

All three were sent home from training yesterday as a precaution ahead of the meeting with League One bottom club Notts County.

Parkinson said: “We had to send three of the lads home from the training ground. They were suffering with a bug so we felt it best.

“A member of staff had it on Saturday so we did the same with him and he is fine now. So, hopefully, it will be the same with these lads.

“We will give Nahki, Reidy and Alan Connell as long as possible to see if they are okay before deciding the team (tonight). What we can’t do is carry anyone so we will assess them thoroughly before making a decision.”

Despite the bug, City are in good spirits after ending their seven-game winless run with a 3-2 triumph at Milton Keynes Dons.

Parkinson added: “MK Dons are a good side so to come away with three points was very pleasing. We had been playing well of late but not managed to get that elusive win so it was great to do so.

“Of course, when you score three goals away from home, you do expect to win the game and that is what we did. Now we have to build on it.

“I don’t know Shaun (Derry, new Magpies manager) but him and Greg Abbott mean Notts County have a good management balance.

“We have seen them play lately and we will have to be at our best.”

Last six games: Bradford City DLDLDW, Notts County WLLLLL.
