Injury troubles mount for City boss Parkinson

PHIL PARKINSON admits injury-hit Bradford City will have to dig deep into their resolve today.

The Bantams host Burton Albion looking to extend a run of just one league defeat in seven outings but are hampered by injury and suspension.

Six first-team players including Michael Flynn, Kyel Reid and David Syers are out, while Ricky Ravenhill (ankle) and full-back Rob Kozluk (calf) face late fitness tests.

Parkinson said: “We are down to the bare bones at the moment.

“We are certainly stretched defensively and that may mean we end up giving some of the players who haven’t seen much first-team action so far a taste of it.

“Along with the defensive issues, we have Michael Flynn, Kyel Reid and David Syers all missing so it is really going to need a big effort from everyone this weekend.”

City could hand a debut to new signing Deane Smalley following the striker’s arrival from Oxford United on loan for the rest of the season.
