The Bantams head to Deepdale, the scene of one of their finest displays of last season when the two teams produced an enthralling 2-2 draw.

Parkinson said: “It has been a really good week for the club and the whole place has been lifted. We started by beating Halifax in what was an excellent Cup tie.

“Then, following on from that we got the sort of draw we wanted in the second round (Dartford at home).

“The icing on the cake then came when our youth team beat Barnsley to book a meeting with Liverpool in the next round.

“We need to now take the pleasing events of this week into Preston.”

Preston beat Havant & Waterlooville in the final FA Cup game of last weekend’s first round but Simon Grayson’s side had lost their two previous league outings.

Parkinson added: “Our visit to Preston was a really good game last season. Both teams set out to attack and I’d expect this year to be the same. Preston like to attack and we have some players who are currently on top of their game.

“We are going in full of confidence after Sunday. Getting through against Halifax was huge. They are a decent side but we stuck at it and got the result we deserved. To then get Dartford at home, well that is something we have to be pleased about.”

Last six games: Preston North End WWWLLW, Bradford City LLDLLW.

Referee: A Haines (Tyne & Wear).

Last time: Preston North End 2 Bradford City 2; October 22, 2013; League One.
