Jon Stead has rejoined Bradford City after signing on loan from near neighbours Huddersfield Town.
Stead, 31, will now go into Phil Parkinson’s squad for Saturday’s Yorkshire derby with Sheffield United.
The striker has signed with City until January 3.
Stead spent the final five weeks of last season with the Bantams.
Stead said: “It has all come a bit of out the blue really but it was an easy decision to come back.
“I obviously know the management staff and a lot of the players already from my time at Bradford last season and it was a straight forward choice to make the move back here.
“I am looking forward to playing games here and helping the team again. I really enjoyed it here last season and I’m ready to play my part again.”
