The future of Nahki Wells, a doubt for the Meadow Lane encounter with a tight hamstring, is the subject of major speculation with QPR being long-time admirers of the striker.

Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers are also keen and with Wells, who refuses to discuss a new deal with just 18 months left on his contract, Bradford may have to cash in.

Asked about the club’s plans, Parkinson said: “We need to get the Notts County game out of the way before we decide what to do.

“There is always dialogue between me and the two chairmen, and obviously there is the speculation about Nahki to include, which is to be expected. So, we will take stock after Notts County and then decide what direction to go in.”

City have won just once in 13 league games and Parkinson added: “We had a good 2013 overall, but we have taken all the plaudits and need to now kick-on. There is a real determination around the club to do so.”

Last six games: Notts County LWWDLL, Bradford City WDDDLL.
