The Bantams return to Valley Parade this weekend after suffering back-to-back away defeats and falling four points behind the League Two play-off spots.

Argyle sit fourth in the table after a run of four league games without defeat, winning consecutive fixtures before back-to-back draws in their last two outings.

O'Connor picked up a small injury in the 2-1 defeat at Newport County last weekend as the Bantams preparations for Saturday's match have been slightly disrupted by the weather.

"Paudie O'Connor picked up a knock after Saturday's game and Kurtis Guthrie has got a knock," confirmed Bradford assistant manager Kenny Black.

"We have two or three that are closer to getting fit but Saturday may come a little too soon because we have been restricted by the weather this week.

"But hopefully we can get enough players and quality on the pitch to cause Plymouth problems."

City already have one eye on potential incomings ahead of next campaign and Black revealed that some players are fighting to keep their place in next season's squad.

"Performances of the players will enhance their chances of getting a new contract," said Black.

"We need to look at the systems and players and it would be foolish of us to just leave it until the end of the season.

"We have got to be looking between now and the start of next season to get players in."

Bradford have picked up four points from a possible six on home soil since Stuart McCall's return as manager.

They drew with Grimsby Town and beat Stevenage but have won just one of their last 11 matches and Black insists the Bantams are now left with little room for error.

He added: "The Grimsby game was a fantastic occasion with Stuart coming back but looking at the game, I thought a draw was probably a fair result.

"The Stevenage game was a banana skin because they were bottom of the table but we got the three points there.

"One victory in 11 is not great and we really need to get that sorted as soon as possible.

"And the quicker we go on a run, we don't really have a great deal of time and we need to start on Saturday."
