Brighton & Hove Albion v Huddersfield Town: Collins returns to bolster Town ranks

AS Huddersfield Town prepare for a midweek travelling odyssey that will see them clock up almost 1,400 miles on four consecutive Tuesdays, Lee Clark is hoping Michael Collins can spark them back into life.

The midfielder is likely to be available after missing two games with an ankle injury and manager Clark admitted his absence had been a telling factor behind Saturday's disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Carlisle United.

The Terriers travel to Brighton & Hove Albion tonight and Clark said: "We have missed Michael Collins. He gives us that thrust from midfield, makes great late runs, sees a pass in the final third and gets a goal.

"Michael has been a miss certainly during this recent run when our offensive players have not been firing like they were in the early part of the season. There could be a chance on Tuesday for Michael but I know him as a character and if he says he's not right then I know he's 100 per cent not right because he would always try and give it a go."

Clark knows Town are in for a tough month with trips to Brighton, Carlisle, Tranmere and Southampton on back-to-back Tuesdays, especially as they also face games at Hartlepool United and Gillingham on February 20 and March 6, respectively.

He is full of admiration for the loyal supporters who follow the side away from home. "It is the superb supporters that I really feel for. I know they still travel but midweek trips to places such as Brighton and Southampton are very hard for them."

The draw with Carlisle means Town travel to the Withdean Stadium sitting just outside the play-offs. He said "I still believe in the players I have got and when we start firing on all cylinders, it will happen. Three or four have been up and down but we win, lose and draw together."

Last six games: Brighton & Hove Albion WWLDLD, Huddersfield Town WLWDWD.

Last time: Brighton 0 Huddersfield Town 1; November 22, 2008; League One.
