Carlisle United 0 Huddersfield Town 1: Terriers go through after strike from Rhodes
It was the visitors who came close to scoring first when Scott Arfield had a shot deflected for a corner. Anthony Pilkington – scorer of two goals for Town on Saturday – then went close but Adam Collins's fingertips denied him.
Ian Harte was yellow-carded for a foul on former Carlisle striker Joe Garner in the seventh minute and Town's Lee Peltier was booked after a late challenge on Francois Zoko.

Hide AdRhodes rounded full-back Sean McDaid after a quarter of an hour but cliipped his shot into the side netting while Paul Philwell should have done better at the other end when Carlisle had men to spare, but he shot wide. Alex Smithies tipped away a testing Simek cross as both sides traded chances.
Former Huddersfield midfielder James Berrett and Gary Madine both saw shots blocked as United went in search of a breakthrough.
Both teams turned up the pressure in an exciting second half. Zoko headed over the bar and Tom Taiwo had a shot blocked after an incisive Cumbrian attack. A ferocious Madine effort deflected for a corner and Chester headed just wide from a corner.
Huddersfield carved out chances of their own. Rhodes had a header hit the bar and McDaid was forced into a goal-line clearance to deny Garner before Rhodes again hit the crossbar with a thunderous shot.
