Chester City's demise impacts on York City

YORK CITY host Eastbourne Borough tomorrow looking to bounce back from having lost ground in the race for the play-offs courtesy of Chester City's expulsion from the Conference.

The league's bottom club were yesterday kicked out at a meeting of member clubs after failing to fulfil fixtures and their results expunged.

With York having already beaten Chester 3-2 this term, they will lose three points.

However, due to some of their play-off rivals having either drawn or lost against Chester, third placed York's advantage over Luton has been cut from six points to three.

Likewise, Kettering Town are now just three points behind Martin Foyle's men as they prepare to host Eastbourne without suspended top scorer Richard Brodie.
