Coventry defender Ward slipping out of Doncaster Rovers' grasp

DONCASTER manager Sean O'Driscoll has confirmed the club will not be extending Coventry City defender Elliott Ward's loan spell.

Ward has made five appearances for Rovers, all in the starting line-up, since arriving on loan in the middle of last month and will play his last game for O'Driscoll's side in Saturday's home clash with Derby.

O'Driscoll said: "Financially we can't afford it. We're hoping Shelton Martis will now be fit.

"Elliott has done really well for us and we would definitely be interested in the summer but at this point, again, you have to know what you can and cannot do financially."
