Crewe Alexandra v Bradford City: Testing away days face struggling Bantams as Flynn is set for return

BRADFORD City could be looking warily over their shoulders if they do not rediscover their form in two testing away trips this week.

They sit 18th, eight points clear of the bottom two but three successive defeats have virtually dashed hopes of a play-off challenge.

Peter Taylor's side travel to sixth-placed Crewe tonight and head to leaders Chesterfield on Saturday.

At least the postponement of Saturday's home game against Burton Albion – it has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 19 – due to a frozen pitch has given several City players more time to fully recover from knocks.

The midfield duo of Tom Adeyemi and David Syers, injured at Aldershot, are set to continue tonight alongside play-maker Tommy Doherty, whose ankle operation has been put back.

Michael Flynn, whose attacking thrust has been badly missed for much of the season, is expected to be on the bench, as could be Lee Bullock (thigh). Rob Kiernan has returned to Watford following the end of his loan spell.

Crewe have their own selection problems with central defender David Artell (calf) expected to again be replaced by Adam Dugdale, who featured in the

3-2 defeat at Aldershot on Saturday.

Goalkeeper Steven Phillips, 36, is also in line for his first start of the season following the dismissal of Chelsea's on-loan Rhys Taylor for handling outside the area on Saturday.
