The Bantams have signed the former Manchester United youth product on an 18-month contract after paying an undisclosed fee to Oldham Athletic.

Rowe made his name at non-league Fylde, scoring 189 goals in 290 appearances but has since proved his worth in League Two with the Latics, who he joined 12 months ago.

He has eight goals this season, though none since November, when he scored the goal which knocked Bradford out of the FA Cup.

If his pedigree appealed to City – and they had been tracking him before the appointment of interim managers Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars – the feeling was mutual.

“I am very happy to be here, at what is a massive club at this level,” he said upon joining.

“I got the call and was desperate to get the deal done and signed. I am concentrated on climbing up the table with Bradford City.

“I have joined to score goals and win games. I cannot wait to get going and am here to stay and be successful.”

Bradford have been extremely active in this transfer window, making the 6ft 1in forward their sixth addition.

“Danny is a player we are really excited to have through the door as the latest of our January recruits in the forward department,” said Trueman.

“He has been on our radar since long before the window opened, and turned down several other offers from across the division to be here.

“As well as experience and professionalism, Danny brings a real goal-scoring threat to our frontline - which we have already seen a lot of this season.

“He was desperate to join Bradford City, and we are certainly looking forward to seeing him hopefully score plenty of goals for us.”
