The 23-year-old has joined from German club FC Ingolstadt on a season-long loan deal with the Terriers having the option to make the deal permanent next summer.

Town had been searching for back-up to captain Tommy Smith and agreed a deal with Barnsley for Andy Yiadom only for the full back to fail a medical.

Asked if this meant his business was done, Wagner replied: "I think so. I will never say never, like always.

"But I do feel we have a group together where every position has two players. That was always our target, two proper players from our point of view and this is why I think we have done what we need to do.

"No-one knows what can happen in the last week but, from my point of view, I am very happy with what I have got. It is up to us now to get the best out of this group."

Hadergjonaj started his career with Swiss side Young Boys of Bern and made 88 appearances before moving to Germany.

Who is Florent Hadergjonaj? Profiling Huddersfield Town's new signing from Bunde...

"Because of Ingolstadt’s relegation, he came on the market and we were very happy to sign him on a loan with an option to buy. The perfect scenario, like it was with Kachunga.

"We can spend a year getting a real good picture of him, and he also has a chance to show us his best."

As with fellow new arrival Abdelhamid Sabiri, Hadergjonaj will not be considered for Saturday's Premier League clash with Southampton.
