Derby County 0 Barnsley 0: Tykes need to be more clinical, rues Robins

BArnsley came away from Derby County today in the Championship with a hard-earned point.

The Tykes went close through Garry O’Connor and Danny Haynes while Theo Robinson and Jamie Ward could have won it for Derby, but both sides had to settle for a point.

Barnsley manager Mark Robins insists his side need to be more clinical in front of goal if they are to start winning games.

Robins said: “We got a point away from home. When you don’t look like winning a game, it’s important you don’t lose it.

“Derby came to spoil it - they are fighting for their lives and they made it difficult for us and it was a difficult surface too.

“Goalscoring is something you have to work hard at. They don’t just come - you’ve got to work on them. We aren’t working hard enough in front of midfield.”
