Doncaster Rovers’ emerging talents have plenty more to give

GLIMPSES of the tantalising potential present in several emerging talents at Doncaster Rovers have come to the fore intermittently in 2020-21.

While he may be someone loathe to make bold predictions, manager Darren Moore is confident that they all have ‘much more to give’ over the course of the season.

The likes of Taylor Richards and Madger Gomes have caught the eye and so, fleetingly, have Rayhaan Tulloch and Tyreece John-Jules.

West Brom loanee Tulloch picked up an unfortunate injury at Charlton last month, while Rovers are awaiting an update on fellow teenager John-Jules, left out of the friendly between England Under-20s and Wales Under-19s on Tuesday afternoon at St George’s Park after suffering a knock in training.

Moore, targeting another midfield loan addition before tomorrow’s deadline, said: “I have been relatively pleased with the way the players have settled down.

“We have got to get Rayhaan back into it and Jason (Lokilo) because they play a big part in it, but Joe Bursik’s game has changed immensely already. He has got tools he is using for us and he has been wonderful.

“There’s more to come from Taylor Richards but he has settled down really, really well and I think Tyreece, as an out-and-out number nine, has added undoubted quality to us.

“Jason has played his part and Rayhaan has played a small part. All of them have got so much more to give us.

“We have had small snippets and, hopefully, over the course of the season, we will see more and more.

“But they have got to get that level of consistency that is always a big thing for young players and I have got to put the parameters in place to gradually get them to that point.”
