Birmingham City 2 Doncaster Rovers 1: King breaks Rovers’ hearts

Dean Saunders saw his Doncaster Rovers side return empty-handed from Birmingham City in the Championship.

Rovers were still without injured short term signings El Hadji Diouf and Pascal Chimbonda but defender Adam Lockwood missed out despite being available after serving a three game ban.

New signing Lamine Diatta missed out after a delay in obtaining international clearance. James Chambers, Martin Woods, Rachid Bouhenna, Paul Keegan, Chris Brown, John Oster, and Tommy Spurr are long term absentees.

Marc-Antoine Fortune (50) put the visitors in front, but the lead lasted just 12 minutes before Marlon King equalised.

With two minutes remaining, King again was on hand to net a late winner for Birmingham.
