Captain Andy Butler gave Paul Dickov’s men a deserved half-time lead against former boss Dean Saunders’s side before the visitors ran riot in the second half with goals from Richie Wellens, Nathan Tyson, Harry Forrester and Curtis Main.

Rovers, who went into the game with just a single win since Boxing Day, saw out the game against Crawley’s 10 men after defender Joe Walsh was shown a red card for a punch on Wellens.

Forrester added a fourth goal from 12 yards on 74 minutes before Main completed the rout with a long-range drive.
