Doncaster move for Habib Beye loan

Senegal international Beye joins compatriot El-Hadji Diouf at the Keepmoat Stadium and is the latest high-profile player to join Dean Saunders’ npower Championship strugglers on a short-term deal as part of a radical new transfer policy spearheaded by agent Willie McKay.

The 34-year-old former Newcastle defender has endured a tough time since moving to Villa Park in 2009, making only nine league appearances under three managers for the midlands club.

Beye’s solitary action for Alex McLeish’s side this term came as a substitute in the Carling Cup win over Hereford and his contract expires in the summer.

Following Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Yorkshire rivals Barnsley, Doncaster remain rooted to the foot of the Championship.
