DONCASTER Rovers maintained their League One promotion charge with a 2-0 beating of visiting Leyton Orient.

Striker Iain Hume was ruled out by a calf injury as Brian Flynn officially took charge of Rovers for the first time.

James Coppinger was brought in to play behind frontman Chris Brown.

Paul Keegan recovered from a thigh problem to take his place in midfield

Doncaster’s early dominance was rewarded when captain Rob Jones headed home from a corner by David Cotterill.

Orient offered little threat but kept it to 1-0 at the break.

But Rovers soon got their reward after the interval when Brown raced through to make it 2-0.

Paul Quinn struck a post as Rovers pressed to the end.
