Doncaster Rovers snap up Barnes on short-term deal

Doncaster Rovers have signed Giles Barnes from Premier League side West Brom.

The 23-year-old English midfielder has signed a six-month contract at the Keepmoat Stadium.

He spent four years at Derby County, scoring 10 goals in 82 appearances, and was talked about as a future English international.

He played 14 times for West Brom in the Premier League.

Barnes is a former England Under-19s international and goes into the squad for Rovers’ season-opener at Brighton.

He has been on trial at Doncaster this summer.
