The former Brentford player, who had previously struggled with a persistent ankle injury this term along with a thigh problem has now suffered a fresh setback and will be sidelined for at least six weeks.

Rather than rush him back, boss Paul Dickov wants Forrester to concentrate on getting himself right for next season.

Dickov said: “Harry suffered a blocked tackle on Tuesday and nicked his cartilage. He had an operation yesterday; it’s a massive blow and he is going to be out for at least six weeks.

“I told Harry to forget about rushing back now.”

Dickov will assess the fitness of Theo Robinson after his return to full training today and says he has a ‘slight chance’ of being involved at the weekend.
