Hill hits out after injury woe is aired via Twitter by winger

Noble-Lazarus, 18, had been sidelined for the last two months and posted his comments on the social network in midweek.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s game at Cardiff City, Hill said: “He shouldn’t be on Twitter for starters. We are talking about someone who has not even cut his teeth yet in professional football.

“It is up to the club doctor and the physio to disclose (his injury) to the public and Reuben should really be concentrating on his football career unless he wants one in the media.”

It is now three years since Noble-Lazarus became the youngest player in Football League history – playing for the Tykes as a substitute against Ipswich Town aged 15 years and 45 days. He has started only one first team game since, however, and made a total of 12 appearances as substitute.

“I am not angry but it’s just typical of our society,” said Hill.

“It’s typical of the youth of today; they don’t communicate verbally, they just communicate via websites, via message boards, via Twitter, via Facebook. It’s just typical of a no bravery society.”

Former England goalkeeper Chris Kirkland, meanwhile, has returned to Wigan Athletic after playing just one game on loan for Doncaster Rovers.

Kirkland, 30, has suffered a recurrence of the back problem which has blighted his career over the last few years.

Veteran goalkeeper Neil Sullivan, 41, returned to the side in midweek against Blackpool and has also been offered a new one-year deal.

Rovers manager Dean Saunders said: “Chris has got a problem with his back so he’s gone back to Wigan and we move on. It’s a spasm in his back and, if you’ve had one, you can’t move.”

Sullivan’s future has been the subject of speculation following Kirkland’s arrival last week but Saunders stressed: ““He’s about to (sign a new contract) and I agreed that before Chris came.”

Sheffield United manager Danny Wilson says striker Ched Evans’s stock is on the rise again.

The Welsh international, who cost £3m from Manchester City in 2009, has scored four goals in seven games this season, but is still awaiting trial for rape, a charge he denies.

Wilson said: “He’s been a model professional and will be massively influential for us this season. His stock is rising back.

“If he is doing well, clubs will come knocking – but it’s no use us worrying about something we can’t control. We just have to make sure we have our eye out for replacements.”
