Rovers produced a commanding display in which Curtis Main gave them the lead against a disjointed Yeovil outfit after only eight minutes.

He produced a fine finish after being sent clear by Harry Forrester.

It was Forrester who effectively made certain of the win – Rovers’ first at Huish Park in six attempts – with another exemplary finish midway through the second half.

Substitute Theo Robinson provided further gloss on with another breakaway goal deep into stoppage time.

“To come away from home, to a tough place and score three good goals is a fantastic start for us,” enthused Dickov.

“It’s a great start. I have to give a lot of credit to the supporters down here and to the players. To put on a performance like that is very pleasing.

“I’m really pleased with the clean sheet. The more this group plays, the better they will get.

“Considering a lot of the players haven’t had a full pre-season I thought the fitness levels were fantastic.”

Yeovil’s new-look back four struggled to cope with the power of Main and the pace of Nathan Tyson, as Rovers continually profited from simple balls over the top and looked threatening throughout on the counter attack.
