Ex-Huddersfield Town boss set to miss out on League One job, Bournemouth suffer injury blow

Huddersfield Town's lengthy search for a win was extended to nine games last night, when Carlos Corberan's side fell to a 2-1 loss away to Middlesbrough, despite dominating possession in an improvement on their recent performances.

The loss sees the struggling Terriers lying in down in 19th place, just five points away from the relegation zone, and could be set to battle Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham United in a drop-zone scrap over the coming weeks.

Speaking after the game, Corberan contended: "The two goals were ones we should have avoided and then we should have got something positive in the game. I do not think we were organised in defence from minute 15 to 45 and this is my responsibility.

"I could have helped the team adapt better and that is one of the reasons we lost our advantage and that is something we need to adapt to fast.

“In the last weeks, we have also created (conceded) three penalties in a row and we have to change this.

"But the reaction in the second half was what I was looking for and we won more second balls in the middle with (Lewis) O’Brien in the middle and Aaron Rowe on the left.”
