FA Cup: Park Avenue to visit ex-Red Devils’ club Salford

BRADFORD Park Avenue have been handed an FA Cup third qualifying round tie away to a club bankrolled by a host of former Manchester United stars.

Avenue will meet Salford City, who were taken over by a group including Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt in 2014.

Promotion from Northern Premier League Division One (North) followed as champions and Salford sit seventh with 17 points from the first 10 games.

Avenue needed late drama to book a place in the next stage, which will be staged on October 10, after trailing 1-0 at Consett with just seven minutes remaining.

Considering the north east club are three leagues below Bradford, an upset seemed on the cards until Chiba Chilaka equalised and then Richard Marshall won the tie deep into stoppage time.

Harrogate Town have been drawn at home to Burscough while North Ferriby United will host Nuneaton Town if the
FA Trophy holders can beat Newton Aycliffe in tonight’s second-round replay.

FC Halifax Town and Guiseley will enter at the fourth qualifying stage with the first round proper due on November 7.
