Fan’s Review of 2019-20 Season – Bradford City

THE season may yet to be completed but, given the enforced break due to the coronavirus pandemic, we thought we’d ask one Bradford City fan to give their verdict on the campaign so far.

James McKenzie, 44, from Cullingworth, has his say below. Scroll through and see if you agree, leaving your own thoughts in the comments section at the bottom.

How would you assess your season so far? A real disappointment, since November a slow-motion car crash. Gary Bowyer’s lack of a plan B meant uninspiring football. Stuart McCall hasn’t the players, or pitch, to play the way he wants.

Player of the season? Connor Wood, our best crosser.

Most improved player? Wood, always in the right place.

Best goal? Dylan Connolly’s beaut against Plymouth Argyle.

Which game have you enjoyed most? McCall’s return.

Biggest disappointment? The season so far.

What mark would you give the manager out of ten? Bowyer six – unable to inspire fans and players to kick off the shackles. McCall – far too early.

How important is it that we finish the season? Not very from a Bantams perspective.

If the season gets started again, what is your hope for your team? To start rebuilding.

What needs to change for next season? Building a team with a real identity.
