Fortune to stay with Sheffield United, Campbell-Ryce leaving Barnsley, Huddersfield target Trotman

JONATHAN FORTUNE is to stay at Sheffield United until the end of the season, after the club extended his contract.

The 29-year-old joined initially in the summer on a six-month deal.

But Blades manager Kevin Blackwell said: "He has been plagued with injury but when we needed him at Barnsley he came in and did a job.

"We've now got Marcel Seip, Matt Kilgallon and Chris Morgan and look strong at the back.

"Jon is an experienced professional and its great to have him on board."

Jamal Campbell-Ryce is set to move to Bristol City after Barnsley agreed a fee with their Championship rivals for the winger.

Preston defender Neal Trotman looks set to join League One outfit Huddersfield on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

North End boss Darren Ferguson has a number of options at centre-back and is happy for Trotman to head to the Galpharm Stadium.

Ferguson said: "They've enquired and he is going to speak to them.

"I have spoken to the lad, he is happy to go. It is not a done deal yet, but it is progressing that way."
