The Scottish interenational was the subject of a £10m bid from Burnley yesterday and sources in Lancashire indicated that a deal would go through if the Tigers found a left back replacement before the 11pm deadline.

However, Hull’s Portuguese head coach has moved to stress that Robertson, who has 17 months of his existing contract to run, will not be leaving during the window.

“Robertson is not leaving,” said Silva, who earlier today added Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia to his squad on loan.

“He is our player, he is important for us and he is preparing to play tomorrow night (at Manchester United). I spoke with the player yesterday and I am clear with him that I want you at the club and he is kept in the squad. He was happy about that.”

Silva continues to chase several targets as he looks to build a squad capable of staying in the Premier League.

“It is not easy but we will try,” he added about that search for reinforcements.
